In case you haven’t seen it yet, CURB’s realignment budgeting report card is an incredible data mine, with a wealth of info from 13 counties’ realignment plans. SF pass, LA incomplete, SD fail… this is a great visual metric of the degree to which counties are investing in new jail expansion plans versus alternatives and re-entry programs.

San Francisco has always been the leader in criminal justices sentencing. But a lot of crimes are only crimes because it was demeaned a crime by politicians.
Why should a second misdemeanor be a felon punishable by imprisonment, or even worse as a 3 strikes case?
When you change the sentencing structure you will have less people entering the criminal system period.
